The cheapest one starts at $26,730

So you want a new SUV with a panoramic moonroof or sunroof? That's great, because we have a list of the 2022 model-year SUVs that offer panoramic glass roofs of any type.

Some details before we dig into the SUVs with a view: To keep things relevant to the typical consumer, this list only features SUVs that cost less than $40,000 when fitted with a panoramic sunroof or moonroof. (Prices do not include destination charges.) Where the panoramic glass roof is an optional extra, we've noted how much it costs and or which trim level you'll need to choose; if it's standard equipment, we've noted that, too.

One other caveat about the list: These are just the SUVs with panoramic glass roofs, i.e. multiple-row-spanning glass roofs, not the more common (but still great) single-row sunroofs or multiple individual sunroofs.

To get the panoramic-roof version of the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer, you'll have to tick the box for the LT's $1,770 Sun and Liftgate Package, as well as the $520 Convenience Package and the $145 Confidence II Package. Along with the panoramic sunroof, you'll get a hands-free rear liftgate, automatic climate control with cabin humidity sensor, rear park assist, and more.

Getting a panoramic sunroof as standard equipment in the 2022 Kia Sportage is as easy as selecting the Nightfall Edition. At a starting price of $28,090, the Nightfall is the least expensive way to get a panoramic glass roof in the 2022 Sportage. Those shopping for a new Sportage may notice that the all-new 2023 Kia Sportage is now available, but the 2022 model, if you can find it, still offers great value.

A power panoramic moonroof is standard on all variants of the 2022 Subaru (7270.TO) Forester except for the base model, meaning you'll have to step up to the $28,895 2022 Forester Premium (or a higher trim) to get the expansive glass roof.

The Volkswagen Taos is all-new for 2022. Volkswagen's smallest SUV is powered by a peppy yet fuel-efficient 1.5-liter engine. While a panoramic sunroof isn't available in the base S, it's a standalone $1,200 option on SE ($27,895) and higher trim levels.

The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan SE starts at $30,120 and requires only the addition of the $1,200 a la carte panoramic sunroof option to have an expansive glass viewport over the occupants' heads. Not bad for a compact SUV that also offers 3-row seating in some configurations.

Like the Forester, the 2022 Jeep Renegade offers a powered panoramic sunroof on every model except the base Sport model. Unlike the Forester, however, it's not a standard item, so you'll have to choose the 2022 Renegade Latitude or higher, and tick the $2,295 Sun and Sound Group option box for a total of $31,440.

A panoramic sunroof is available in the 2022 Nissan Rogue SV, (7201.TO) which starts at $28,840. To get the panoramic roof, you'll need to tick the SV Premium Package box, a $2,660 option that adds the panoramic glass roof as well as roof rails, a power liftgate, rear-door sunshades, leatherette seating surfaces, heated front seats, and more.

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox includes lots of standard active safety systems plus standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but you'll have to choose the all-wheel-drive 2022 Equinox LT plus the $3,440 combined expense of the Panoramic Power Sunroof package, the Driver Convenience Package, the Driver Confidence II Package, the Confidence & Convenience Package, and the roof-mounted side rails option.

Excellent off-road, with good safety features, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee is also ready for some panoramic sightseeing. All you'll need to do to get a panoramic sunroof in the 2022 Cherokee is choose the Latitude Lux trim (or higher) and select the $2,295 Sun and Sound Group package, which also includes a premium Alpine speaker system, active noise control, and more.

When it comes to the Hyundai Tucson, the least expensive way to get a panoramic sunroof is with the Tucson Hybrid. Opt for the Tucson Hybrid and choose the mid-tier SEL Convenience trim to get the panoramic sunroof included, along with a host of other cool features, including a hands-free smart power liftgate, 19-inch alloy wheels, and more. With the non-hybrid Tuscon, choose the top-of-the-line Limited at $35,300, and the panoramic sunroof is included.

Getting a huge glass window in the roof of your 2022 Kia Sorento is as easy as choosing the Sorento S or higher and ticking the box for the $1,300 standalone panoramic sunroof Package option. Only the base LX model doesn't offer the panoramic roof.

All 2022 Audi Q3 models continue to offer panoramic glass roofs as standard equipment. That means even the "base" Q3 40 TFSI Premium includes the power panoramic sunroof as well as Quattro all-wheel drive, LED headlights, active driver assists like rear cross-traffic assist and side assist, plus more.

If Scandinavian style and a healthy dose of practicality sound like good companions to your panoramic moonroof, the 2022 Volvo XC40 Momentum is a good pick. Add the Laminated Panoramic Moonroof with Power Shade option ($1,475) to get an even more open, airy cabin feel.

The Toyota (7203.TO) RAV4 is the best-selling SUV in America, thanks in no small part to its versatility, reputation for reliability, and excellent resale value. To get the RAV4 with a panoramic glass roof, opt for the Limited and add the $2,540 Limited Grade Advanced Technology Package with Options. This package includes audio, technology, and weather-handling upgrades as well as the glass roof. If you prefer the versatile and efficient 2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, shop for the XSE and add the $3,540 XSE Grade Advanced Technology Package with Options. Total price: $39,095.

You might not think it's possible, but the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder does (just barely) make it under the $40,000 mark with a panoramic sunroof, provided you're judicious in your options choices. The Pathfinder SV 2WD trim ($37,460) and the SV Premium Package ($2,170) combine for a cost of $39,630 before destination fees.
